Salt Of Earth Light Of World

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:12-17

The God in Me

There is nothing more fruitful and beneficial than when the Lord reveals His truth to you! I'm always amazed that I can read and read the Bible and think I understand, but when the Spirit teaches me personally, I am opened up to a whole new level of understanding. "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." John 14:26 That is my Graceland!
We must be reminded that the serpent of old, the enemy, the great deceiver has been on this earth as long as, or even before Adam and Eve. To say the least satan knows our weaknesses, our strengths, our fears, our joys, and he knows exactly how to manipulate our emotions. He is at work trying to confuse and hinder us from obtaining the truth. The great deceiver is exactly what he is.... until, we understand his tactics and ultimate plot to steal ALL glory from God no matter how significant or insignificant the situation may be. We must shed away the scales of worldly understanding to transcend this elaborate plot. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" Proverbs 9:10.

The first thing we need to be reminded of is that there is a war going on. Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." So what then do we do? How do we fight against this great company that comes against us? Of course there is instruction found in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Christ is the only victor in this great battle. Through Him we become more than conquerors, but we must take captive every one of our own thoughts and allow God alone to fight the battle for us. Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me." John 15:4. We can have a close walk with the Father and allow the Spirit of Truth to personally teach us by inscribing his truth on the tablets of our hearts. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world, so then we must not let the enemy deceive us any longer and rise with Christ and receive all He has for us. He says His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven! Our eternal walk started the day we received Christ, so lets walk Brothers and Sisters in the truth and in Love! How can I fail when I have Christ in me.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians

From Time to Time (Guest Blogger)

I was in the car listening to a radio preacher, a great way to spend my windshield time, when I heard the preacher say, “From time to time we are all going to fail; we are going to fall short.” When I heard this, my immediate response was (and I even said it aloud), “Are you kidding me?”

Since the Garden, the serpent has attempted to diminish God’s role while at the same time convincing man that he is more important, capable, and self-reliant than he could ever be. It is not surprising that Christ has been reduced to a helper, not a savior, and sin has been redefined as “falling short” or a “time to time failure”.

The Scriptures paint a much different picture. David in Psalms 51:5 writes “Behold I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” And previously, in verse 3 he stated, “For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.”

David, a man after God’s own heart, doesn’t speak of sin lightly. Although sin is failure, and it is falling short, it is treated in Scripture with more gravity than a time to time unsuccessful attempt at doing right.

We must come to understand and accept that we all have an intimate relationship with sin. Sin permeates our being, our thoughts, and our actions on a daily basis. In our humility, we are guilty of pride. Our love is never perfect, and our faith carries doubt. We do not simply need God to help us, but rather we need to become utterly dependant upon Him, especially in the areas where we have been gifted and blessed.

Our prayer on a daily basis should be likened to that of David in Psalms 51:1 where he cries, “Have Mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies BLOT OUT my transgressions”.

“Wash me; Pardon me; Cleanse me; Restore me; Blot out my iniquities; Hide my face from my sins; Deliver me from bloodguilt and death,” – This is the language of the passage.

It is clear from this passage that David did not want to look at his sin. He wanted to be hidden from it. May this be our approach to sin, and may we come before the throne of grace in utter humility and repentance. And may we never think that we only sin from time to time.

When God first opened my understanding, I viewed life differently than before. Everything was anointed, everything was inspired, everything was in perspective of His kingdom. There are so many forces working against our relationship with the Father and we must push past the lies of the enemy, the ways of the world, and our own fleshly desires and turn to obedience in Christ to see clearly again. Sometimes in the busyness of life, my perspective is clouded, I forget to seek the Lord and end up doing things out of His will, not to say that it can not be turned for His glory, but an unnecessary hardship it may very well become. Praise God that He is so graceful and can use ALL things to His Glory, even in our sins, trials, and disobedience. But of course to keep it in the right perspective we must be reminded of Romans 6:1-2 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" We live in a fallen world and our faith is continually tested, tried, and tested again; but of course there is an answer to why in James 1:3 "because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." Amen! I claim Romans 8:37 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." I want to see the world as I did before when I first believed, I want to be MORE than a conqueror! Though my heart my tend to harden, God can soften it. Though my sight may be clouded, He can clear it. Though I might not make the time to seek Him fully, He seeks after me constantly and will never leave me!

Father God to you be the Glory! I pray you anoint my sight to see clearly that I may know you. I pray that you help me make time to seek you fully. I pray that you strengthen me to continue to walk the narrow path and walk according to your perfect will. My spirit is willing but my flesh is weak, take away any stumbling blocks and trials that are not according to your will and give me the strength to persevere through each trial. I love you and want to honor you with my life. Help me become less, so that you may become more in my life! Amen

Enough said!

A Poem Written By My Son

I wanted to share a poem written by my 11 year old son Rayray! He amazes me how much knowledge he has in the Lord. Praise God for giving my son a heart for His Father!

O Jesus my Lord stand
dead on the cross
to me and many
losing you is a great loss

Your spirit flows through us,
and guilt through Judas
all are just lost without you

But just after three days
and you were out of the grave
and thanks to you,
my mighty Lord,
we would all be saved

Now our sins are payed for,
because of your Crucifixion
you are my lord you are my greatest addiction.

Pursuit Of Righteousness

"I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold, I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good."

How ironic that I would find this lyrical verse from a secular song because exactly what the verse says, everything that shines isn't always going to be gold. I have been seeking the secular in the pursuit of happiness, which to your spiritual wellness has no benefit. Happiness actually comes as a result of happenstance, something "happened" that made you 'feel' happy. I want to be more than "happy" I want Joy! Joy only comes from the Lord. Nehemiah 8:10 says, "...Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” I can have Joy even through the valleys, deserts, trials, and hardships in my life. "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” -Hebrews 1:9 I want that oil of joy, and praise God he lets us know exactly how we obtain it. In loving righteousness and opposing all the wickedness that the secular world offers I can have it.

Im on the pursuit of righteousness and I know that its the Lord righteousness that will always shine brighter than gold, I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

Praise Report

My husband preached his FIRST sermon this past Sunday and he did an Amazing job! Keep in mind that he has never spoke in front of a crowd and is a fairly new believer. Immediately after service he left to Arizona to the annual Calvary Pastors Conference. If you would have asked me if this would have ever happened, I would have bet my life against it. My brother gave me a verse that now I have total understanding of, 1 Corinthians 2:9 “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” -the things God has prepared for those who love him— " WOW, Amen! The thought of where my husband was compared to who he is now is the total and absolute power of God. It is such a blessing to me to be witness to an amazing transformation in my husband. It gives me so much hope for others out there and I hold on to that hope because I know it is not Gods will for not one man to perish. I pray that his time at the conference is anointed and blessed and that his cup is overflowing with the spirit of truth. Thank you Father for the Favor and all the amazing things you have prepared for my life that I have not even conceived!

Stagnant Waters

"Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:38

Come Holy Spirit and dwell in me! I thirst for your living waters! When Im not in the word or ignoring the small still voice that is constantly driving me towards Himself, it feels as though my water turns stagnant. One definition of stagnant from American Heritage dictionary is: Showing little or no sign of activity or advancement; not developing or progressing; inactive. Sometimes I feel like am not making any progress and taking steps backwards rather than forward. We are clean and sanctified by the washing of the water of the word. I have already been washed clean and I have already drank of the water my Father gave to me, so therefore Im clean.
As I look back at my walk I notice that I am more often in the valley rather than the mountain top. Amazingly my husband put it in perspective for me. If, in our weakness His strength is perfected, why not call it blessed? Can I get an ouch! I really do not like the valley, Its so hard to connect with my Father and I feel motionless. But indeed it is a true test of faith. Will I continue to serve Him as if I were on the mountain top? The valley is where your true faith is revealed, so I cannot let my water turn stagnant. I thank the Lord that He is patient with me through all my human emotions and misunderstandings of what His truth really means. The Lord gave me a powerful word the other morning saying, "The ground you walk on is Holy, because it is I who determines your steps" Father I pray I walk worthily and holy in the path you have laid down for me! I know that I have a long walk ahead of me and I pray that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in my life will truly run like rivers of living water and not run dry!

Thanks Jacque :)

We forget that we are free from sin and get caught up in bondage. We are FREE from sin, so sin will not prevail in my life! Praise you God for sending me this today through my friend! As I was reading 1 Peter last night the passage about being Holy stuck in my mind today, "Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” How amazing He is to me to instruct me and teach me when I veer off path. It is written that we purify ourselves by obeying the truth. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. I know He is right here in my very being, never leaving because He loves me and the plans He has for me have not even entered my mind. Thank you Father for your unending Grace, may I walk worthily in your presence!

I am weak. I lack strength. I have no power.

I Praise God that I have his strength to lean on! There is NO WAY I would be able to uphold the teachings he has personally taught me if he did not give me his strength. In my flesh I am easily overcome by my very nature, but Gods nature dwells in me so that I shall overcome. Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. Since everything is permissible, I will not be mastered by anything. Lately I have been overcome with anxieties, fears, doubts, and the like; but God is faithful to restore me, not from bringing me out of situations or clearing them from my path, but rather giving me eyes to see clearly and the wisdom of how it affects my walk with him. All I have to do is remain in him and he shall remain in me. Please do not leave me Lord, I cannot conquer these mountains alone. Give me your strength to uphold the will you have for my life.
